In the generic tables the buildings never get above 4 stories in height. Which is completely understandable as they are simply to be used by a DM for random encounters during an adventure. I was happy to leave that limit for the lower wards of the city.
However, now that we are into Castle Ward and moving north I have changed the rules slightly.
Any B class building (40%) chance with a roll of 8 on the level dice (12.5%) another 1-4 levels are added to the building by rolling a D-4 dice. This means that approximately 5% of the buildings will be 5-8 levels high. Upper level floors are 4mm in height so the difference will be 4 - 16mm. Height standards only apply to occupied housing. Warehouses have no height standards and can vary wildly usually much taller than indicated by dice roll.
