Just another brick in the wall...

Hopefully the stupid headlines are more entertaining than just a date. Anyway, the printer has not had a vacation just because the harbor is done. It has been furiously printing away at the west wall of mount waterdeep. This wall stands 60' high with 80' towers so the print time is longer. Nonetheless, we are nearing the end of that journey.

Printing walls for square towers is easy. I have a slicer in the garage otherwise known as a circular chop saw that works perfectly on PLA plastic. I found sanding to be inefficient as the plastic starts to move when heated (go figure).

Now I am dealing with mostly round towers and that is going to require that each wall is perfectly designed custom length \down to the millimeter. On the plus side, I am getting a farking clue about how to work with sketchup and thing are going alot more smoothly and quickly although I still dont know what the hell a layer is...

Just test printed a 63mm section of wall that was good and there is another 168mm long wall section printing now. 3 hours just for that piece.
