Ok, I sat up last night and this morning and got writers cramp fleshing out 46 of the generic buildings in the dock ward. About 30% of the neighborhood I am working on. Would have kept going but I ran out of note cards. I think the D10 is loaded because there are a lot more class C buildings than I anticipated. Fun to generate the city by dice because it is so up in the air per the DM's discretion :]
I tried to print one of the buildings with supports underneath but it was too delicate and after 3 aborted tries I gave up. If I go this route there will have to be changes to the printer setup and/or I would have to use a raft or a brim, etc or switch to the resin printer. Also, the buildings are facing at the 8 cardinal points at doorways so figuring out exactly how they should sit is a nightmare.
After removing the support and leveling the buildings they printed without issue. Here are the 3 buildings I have printed as a test with some sloping MDF underneath. As you can see, they clearly sit at an angle and it is much more noticeable with the 3 story building.
Now, my second option is to carve out a bit of the MDF to form a base for the house to sit on. This is the first best option at the moment. The issue with this is that I have to know the offset if I am going to install doorways at ground level. - Maybe not, just got a brainstorm... It wouldnt matter if a doorway extended below grade so all I need to know is approximate and I can extend below. Still going to be a long process to do each building as doorways to the low side will be at ground level but doorways will need to be much higher on the other side.
