Southgate

Southgate appears to be the single largest enclosed building on the map. It is 135mm across the rear face which translates into 270' long, 66' in height at the main building and 106' in height at the tops of the towers. I started printing the gate without any supports and realized it was probably going to fail after 10 hours of printing. So, I abandoned that print and tried to insert supports in Cura. For some reason it kept wanting to put small inefficient supports along the front of the structure. When I printed it these supports did not stay put and caused the printer to start spraying plastic all over. So, I installed the software for Prusa and sliced the model again. This time the slicer worked correctly and did not try to put those supports. However, Prusa has no way of transferring a file directly from a computer to the printer, you need an SD card reader which I did not have. 1 hour later and a trip to Walmart got me what I needed. I sliced the print and it will take 5 hours less because it is printing at .15mm/layer rather than .10mm/layer. The head is crashing constantly because I did not repair the model before I sliced it. Live and learn... Even so it is coming out nice. 5+ hours to go.
