When you are crafting a tabletop or RPG project there are always tradeoffs. You have time, money, playability, realism, etc... It would be great to build a life size model of Waterdeep. However, I have neither the money or materials for a project like that. So, I have to pick a size that is still representative yet not so large it cannot be implemented. Another consideration is level of detail. At this scale a 6' tall person would be 3mm high. They would be visible but very tiny and there would be no details except maybe for clothing color. Given the size of the city and population of over 100,000 a good representative number of people would be 5,000 - 10,000 minimum. It would be a lot of work and IMO detract from the overall view of the city. So, I am not going to add people, at least not until the end. Maybe by then I will change my mind. However, there is some minimum level of detail I want to try to stick to. Here is a good representation. There are 2 towers running along the west wall of Mount waterdeep that are strangely positioned one behind the other. Rather than printing the same towers as the rest of the line, I moved the doors around so that on the upper parapet they match up with the walls.
Going to try to get dormer windows, multiple roof types, roof cisterns, chimneys, and maybe even balconies to come out on these buildings. Might need to upgrade to a resin printer.
